Verification bar

Last updated

A **verification bar** is the minimum evidence you require before trusting an AI output — calculations checked, citations opened, formulas re-run, or a human approval.

#When to use

Any output that could waste money, mislead a customer, or enter a shared doc. Set the bar before you generate.

#When not to

Pure ideation you will throw away. Even then, mark drafts as unverified.

#Quality checklist

  • What must be exact vs judgment
  • How you will check (tool, source, spot sample)
  • Who owns the final decision
  • What fails the bar automatically

#Example

Bar for research brief:
- Every statistic links to an opened source
- No claim older than 24 months unmarked
- Conflicting sources flagged, not averaged
